Chakras are energy centers that are located in a straight line from the bottom of your spine to the top of your head. There is believed to be many but it's the main 7 that are used especially during any Holistic/ energy healing. Each are a different colour and are connected to different parts of the body, physically and emotionally.
They are likened to spinning disks, funnelling out away from the body in a cone shape, when healthy and active their energy flows freely and spin wirh ease. However, they can become sluggish, slow and block completely stopping any energy flowing through them. This is where you will begin to feel effects of this. Including stress, aches and pains, left untreated is what leads to more long term issues, such as depression, lingering pains and physical conditions.

 

One of the easiest ways to imagine energy  is similar to when you pull the plug out of a bath/sink. If you watch, the water spins fast as it travels down the drain to its next location. If there is a blockage, the water may be slower and not spinning as fast, a total block and the water won't go down the plughole and will remain, getting stagnant and trapped.
the only way to sort this is to try unblock yourself or call in a plumber, or in this case, when discussing energy, a therapist.

The holistic therapist can use healing energy such as Reiki, and using crystals to balance and heal the chakras to get the spinning freely again, leading to better health and wellbeing.
